Remember two weeks ago when I was heading off to my third interview for a job? Well, great news, I got it! (hooray!) Before we all jump around, (air) holding hands, and singing girl power songs (I’m really feeling Spice Girls), I have a confession to make. I almost self doubted myself out of a job.
I had two weeks to “prove myself,” and before I even got through the first week, I was throwing in the towel. I needed to hit a sales goal to get hired on and I was really struggling (which I’m pretty sure is allowed). Instead of just putting the truth out there, I decided to accept defeat and email a “thank you so much, but I’ll have to pass,” email. Lucky for me, my (now official) boss said she saw something in me that she knew she could bet on, so she hired me anyway (I feel like this calls for a little “#blessed” moment). Because of her believing in something I wasn’t sure I believed in, I now am a working woman (yipee!)
The company I work for now is Trunk Club, a men’s styling service that Nordstrom bought earlier this year (here’s my plug: if your man (or you, if you are a man) needs a little help style wise, click on that link and sign up! I’ll be so happy to help!). It is actually a really amazing service! I pack a “trunk” (aka, a cardboard box that looks like a trunk) for my client, I mail it, they try everything on, pay for what they keep and send what they don’t want back. It let’s me do what I love (shop/style), allows my clients to look snazzy, and keeps me from spending money (in fact, making some, which is my husband’s favorite part). Needless to say, I am really excited and again, thank you all for your sweet words, comments, and emails (you guys are the sweetest!)
