This year, with my husband and I having new jobs, we officially have fancy holiday parties to attend and I am so excited. (Like more excited than if someone told me Rice Krispy Treat cereal was coming back). The first thing I did once we got the news of work Christmas party invites was start creating outfits.
Holiday parties are so much better (in my book) from October 31st through December 31st. Obviously, Halloween is amazing because you can go all out and be whatever you want for a night (like a muppet or a zombie, maybe even a zombie muppet). Thanksgiving time is great because parties/gatherings involve a mix of friends (friends-giving parties) and family, so the attire is a mix of cocktail and casual (which is nice to have a little break in there too. It’s hard to dress up stretchy pants). Then there is Christmas parties and New Years Eve parties (amazing!!). For me, this is all about cocktail and formal attire and I love it! I typically gravitate towards shiny objects in general (bless) so I love the sparkle and pizzaz of all things sequin. I also like to wear some sort of winter/Christmas themed attire (cheesy? maybe, but that’s pretty much me). This outfit I planned I think is a good mix of that without looking like a Christmas tree. Now, if you like things a little simpler, a little black dress always looks unbelievable. Honestly, just dressing up gives me extra confidence and I think any body looks great when they are wearing their inner “I rock” on the outside.
Here’s to looking fabulous all December!
