I mean this t-shirt, it is my everything. I found it on Etsy and saw the shop owner lives in Chicago, so for every reason possible, I ordered this as fast as my little paws could type.

Outside of my obsession with this shirt (and obviously my dogs), life is going pretty great right now. An opportunity arose that allowed me to nanny/walk dogs in the high rise we live in, spend a little more time with my family, and obviously obsess over dogs all day. Needless to say, with almost no hesitation, I took it! This change in jobs comes at a time that my husband and I are consciously putting more of an effort to enjoy the simple things in life more. We realized how easy, especially in bigger cities, it is to get caught up in material things, keeping up with the Joneses, and forgetting about the simple joys that truly make us happy.

Being with friends on a back porch laughing at old times, catching up with my hubby while cooking and sipping wine, smelling like bug spray and camp fires while roughing it in the woods, finding a good deal while shopping, road tripping with my pups and just listening to cicadas while watching lightning bugs with great company are a few things I have forgotten I loved so much.

We have been moving so often the past few years and with each move, we meet new people, make new friends, and have new experiences. We are so incredibly thankful for that, but, with that said, it has helped us realize that we are ready to get back to where we belong. We are ready to start putting plans in motion, how ever long or short those plans are, to get back to North Carolina.

In the mean time, we are going to be more grateful more often, relish the moments that matter, and make more time for the most important people/pups in our lives.

Cheers to simple joys, lasting memories, best friends (2 legged and 4 legged), and for having a place you know is “home.”
