Let me preface what you are about to experience. My husband signed up for the Krispy Kreme Challenge a couple weeks back. It is a 5 mile race, seems doable right? Wrong. Half way through the race, you have to eat 12 doughnuts before you can run the last half of the race. (umm, pass). Hence, why I have pictures versus a medal from participation (I snuck 1 in though, you can’t pass up the hot and glazed). Anywho, here are some of my favorite shots.
this is my hubby experiencing a Krispy Kreme high
the original Krispy Kreme
Luke is a huge fan of Krispy Kreme’s
probably enjoying that doughnut, but reconsidering being half naked
ahhhh, Krispy Kreme
The run starts on the NC State campus and they run to the original Krispy Kreme, which is kind of “sweet” (hehe). The race started as a dare between some (I’m assuming) intoxicated college students, that was 12 years ago. Now it’s a local dare, if you will, and has raised over $1 million dollars for the NC Children’s hospital.
The Krispy Kreme Challenge 2016 was a fun experience and I think we learned a couple things:
1. I am definitely signing up for races I’m not running in to cheer on strangers, it is so fun!!
2. Doughnuts are delicious, but should not be eaten by the dozen (I know everyone who threw up agrees)
3. Krispy Kreme hangovers are real and my husband had one for 2 days. He won’t be participating again.
