Believe it or not, not everyone blitzes out the door to happy hour (whhaaattt?? I know, hard to fathom, but it’s true you guys). I have had a few requests over my time writing the blog to share some virgin options, so whether you have never popped the top on a beer, are pregnant, or are just taking a break from boozing (your liver thanks you), this post is for you.
One of my very favorite things about craft cocktails is the craft part and I don’t think you should miss out on the fresh goodness that comes with that just because you don’t want to enjoy the cocktail part.
I made this virgin mojito for a friend who came to visit who doesn’t drink and it got a double thumbs up. I have been growing mint, so it really made this drink extra special.
It’s all about that fresh, farm to cup feel that makes a good drink a great one, so grab some juicy limes, club soda, and home grown mint (or farmer’s market mint) and kick off your weekend with something light and refreshing!
- 1 tsp raw sugar
- 3/4 oz simple syrup (equal parts water/sugar, heated until sugar dissolves; let cool)
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 15 mint leaves
- 4 oz sparkling water (a flavored sparkling water would be fun too)
- In glass or cocktail shaker (something not fragile), muddle the mint, sugar, lime juice and simple syrup.
- (pour into glass if not already in it) add ice and top with sparkling water.
