Trick or treating, costume parties (with Boo-ze…see what I did there), ghoulish themed snacks, playing dress up, and wrapping all that up with a crisp fall weather bow; yeah, I wait all year for this gift of Autumn that is Halloween.  Let’s be honest, I waited all year B.B. (before baby), now that Madeline is here, it’s like the pinnacle of Halloween season have arrived (I was strategizing family costumes in April..so, this is basically my super bowl).

Up until this point, I’ve only been able to force my dogs and sometimes my husband into group costumes, but now, we’re on a different playing field. I have baby Cruella De Vil herself (Drool-Ella), which is a game changer. I have this adorable little babe that I can force my love of Halloween on (mom of the year right here). Luckily, she has her daddy’s temperament most times and as he does with me, she just lets me have my fun.

This year, we obviously went down the 101 Dalmatians road. I typically stay within the Disney family because I’m a fan girl of most things Disney. Instead of going right for the princess pairings, I thought it’d be hysterical to plop a wig and an evil (yet strong) villain persona on this smiley girl. The rest of the family is going the Dalmatian pup route (well, and 1 reject Dalmatian, Ella).

Although I’ve definitely bought costumes before, I really like finding options that I can DIY with or even better, can be re-worn. Since she will NEVER remember this (which is probably best), I didn’t want to spend a lot on her costume. I lucked out and found some cute options that fit what I needed on eBay. The most expensive part of the whole costume was the wig, which I got on sale at a costume store, so still pretty inexpensive. The car we found and were getting for Christmas, so we just bumped that up to now to really top off the costume with the “extra-ness” that we really needed (I have a problem).

I linked some options for a Cruella costume below in case you’re a last minute planner (wink wink) and are in need of a quick, adorable, pull together option. Most items can be re-worn as normal outfits (wig optional, depending on your mood).

Happy Halloween my witches!
