Hi! I’m Ramie (like Jamie with an R), thanks for visiting my site!

A little about me:

I grew up in Southwest Virginia. I have 1 amazing husband (Matthew), 2 amazing rescue pups (Ella and Conner) and am a momma to be to baby Madeline, who’s due on Valentine’s Day 2017. Since getting married, we’ve moved from Virginia to North Carolina, to Texas, to Illinois, and now back to North Carolina (where our hearts belong, although Chicago stole a pretty big chunk of it). I love sweet tea, dresses (with pockets), home grown tomatoes, bows, gardening, summer thunder storms, and naps (sometimes in that order).

What you’ll find here:

My love of the south (born and bred), my passion for writing, cooking/eating, exploring daily life through my camera lens, wandering, my journey on living a healthy life (journey is the key word there, so show me some grace), my journey as a mama bear and finding joy in my everyday, southern life.

What’s paperyrain?

A southern, summer thunderstorm is spectacular. Not only is it booming and overwhelming, with papery sheets of rain coming down, but it’s also very calming. Whenever it storms like that, I grab my sweet tea and head out to the porch to curl up and watch the storm roll through. It’s the unexpected time in the day where I’m forced to slow down, take it all in, and appreciate the simplest joys of life.

My goal in writing this blog is to make those moments happen more often; To find my ordinary, everyday joy, like I do with a “papery rain.”

Thank you so much!! It really means a lot! I use an older D700 Nikon with a couple different lenses, mostly a 70-200mm lens. I feel like having a great lens is more important that having a great base of a camera. The bases, as long as it’s a dslr, they all have similar functions. Hope this helps and thanks so much for visiting the blog and commenting!!!
